Edelrid Shield II climbing helmet
Edelrid Shield II climbing helmet is ideal for long routes in the mountains. Shield II features an ultra-light In-Mold construction, made from an ergonomic expanded polystyrene mold, with removable padding and an outer shell made of polycarbonate.
The EPS (expanded polystyrene) is simply high-density polystyrene and is currently the best material for absorbing and insulating impacts, even violent ones.
In the event of a potential impact, the normally open cells of the polystyrene react by closing and absorbing the released energy before it can transfer to the head. The internal padding is also removable for washing and maintenance.
The innovative Wing-Fit adjustment system fits all sizes. It has large openings that allow for excellent airflow and features four clips for the headlamp.
