This volume could be subtitled Diary of a Curious Mountaineer, as the author believes that, in an era when mountains are turned into leisure gyms, it is necessary not to lose curiosity, the desire to delve deeper, and to think. A guide that arises from the pleasure and fun derived from his desire to explore and poke around the mountains of his home, his stone garden precisely, in the area between Lake Lecco and Lake Iseo, through classic itineraries, forgotten routes, and others simply little known. A selection of rock routes whose choice has been influenced by various factors: geographical location, rock quality, overall beauty of the route, bolting, protectability, predominantly alpine nature, and necessarily, the emotions they have conveyed. Almost all the routes are characterized by requiring good mountaineering skills, which go beyond technical grade; logic and intuition in finding the path and the ability to move on not always solid rock, are determining qualities for the success of the ascent.

There are no beautiful or ugly climbs. For me, each ascent is a story in itself, and each one always has something beautiful to offer me.
