Idea Montagna Rutor-Sassière mounteering guidebook: The project "Vie Normali Valle d’Aosta" aims to climb all over 1200 normal routes to the peaks of this region, without limits of altitude and hierarchies, and to create a series of 8 volumes, where technical reports, photographs, and routes will be detailed and accurately described. A series of eight updated hiking and mountaineering guides, all tested "in the field" by the authors.
Few areas in Valle d'Aosta can boast a variety of environments like this small slice nestled between Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso, almost overshadowed by the two giants and therefore too often overlooked. The Rutor Glacier, with its crown of peaks, is often the only approach to this area, which is rich in pleasant surprises such as Monte Paramont or Monte Miravidi, Becca di Suessa or Truc Blanc. The volume describes 160 normal routes, which wind through lakes and marshes, rocky slopes and flower-filled meadows, on rocky spires or small glaciers.
