Idea Montagna Val d'Adige Plaisir is a perfect climbing guide to accompany you on your adventures in Val d'Adige. For several decades, Val d'Adige has been well-frequented on the walls overlooking the great river. Until a few years ago, however, climbers focused on the more imposing walls, those that, while passing on the highway or the state road, attract the attention of enthusiasts. These are the walls on Monte Cimo, above the town of Brentino, where the routes opened are generally of high level. The same can be said for the beautiful walls at the Chiusa di Ceraino. The river, in fact, almost at the gates of Verona, leaves the wide valley to wedge into a narrow gorge where the walls are practically at water level. These have also been climbed since the 1970s. Strangely, no attention has ever been given to the walls, visibly more eroded and therefore easier, that border the river just south of Monte Cimo and exactly on Monte Cordespino, above the town of Tessari. Only in the last 10 years has it begun to be recognized that, precisely due to the ease of access, return, but above all ascent, these walls had their reason for existence. And so, climbers, especially from Verona, have found a virgin terrain all to explore. In just a few years, dozens of routes suitable for many who, due to ability or desire, enjoy themselves without particular stress have emerged, becoming well-frequented even by CAI courses or Alpine Guides.
This guide contains descriptions of more than 150 routes of low and medium difficulty. The authors have set the maximum difficulty of the routes at 6b (with rare exceptions), and they are well-equipped for sport climbing, or easily integrable for alpine climbing, with comfortable access and descent.
