DMM Alloy Offset set 7 - 11 climbing nuts

DMM Alloy Offset are passive protection devices designed to protect irregular and flared cracks where traditional nuts cannot be positioned correctly. Each size in the Alloy Offset series offers a certified strength of 12 kN. The cables are housed in a recessed seat to reduce wear over time, while the larger sizes feature lightening holes to keep the overall weight down. When used in combination with Wallnuts, they provide complete crack protection in all seasons.

The asymmetrical tapered shape ensures stable placements in offset cracks, such as those that are flared or marked by old bolts, where standard protections do not find a secure hold. Each piece can be positioned in two orientations, sideways or face-on, greatly increasing versatility and the number of cracks that can be protected with a single piece. The grooved surfaces further enhance grip on irregular or heavily worked rock, making these nuts suitable for various types of rock. The range is color-coded both on the anodization and on the cable sheath for quick and intuitive identification of sizes. Being a passive protection that works by wedging in the constrictions of the crack, it can also be effectively used in wet or icy conditions, where friction is reduced, unlike active protections such as friends.
