SCARPA Furia Air Ice/Red climbing shoes

The Scarpa Furia Air is the restyle of one of the most iconic and radical models in the Scarpa collection, a shoe that has represented the highest level of sensitivity and lightness in the climbing world for years. This new version aims to push the original concept even further, reducing the "tool" to the bare minimum to offer a direct and natural connection between foot and rock. Wearing it is like slipping on a sock: every movement feels free, fluid, and immediate.

Weighing about 150 grams per half pair, the Furia Air is one of the lightest climbing shoes on the market. This extreme lightness translates into enhanced softness and extraordinary sensitivity, allowing the climber to feel even the smallest details of the foothold. However, it is not a "soft" shoe without support: the support comes from the tension of the rubber and the snug fit, which works in synergy with the foot. The more precisely the shoe is worn, the more the big toe is guided into a functional position, improving control and force transmission on the footholds.

The drastic reduction of the midsole makes the Furia Air a very training-oriented shoe. Using it requires the foot and calf muscles to work harder, while the high sensitivity improves coordination between foot and brain. The result is a more instinctive, fast, and natural climbing experience, particularly appreciated in bouldering, on volumes, on rounded holds, and in overhanging routes, where the ability to "spread" the foot often makes a difference.

This restyle also introduces significant improvements in materials. The new textured microfiber upper is more abrasion-resistant and offers superior grip compared to the previous version, while maintaining very minimal thickness. The heel also follows the philosophy of maximum sensitivity: it is extremely soft and precise, ideal for heel hooks where perception and fine control matter, while it is less suitable for creating very structured leverage, an area where stiffer shoes remain preferable. The closure system has been updated with a more robust and less elastic strap, designed to ensure a more stable closure and better connection between the forefoot and heel.

The Furia Air is a unisex shoe, designed for climbers who prioritize sensitivity and feel with the rock. It is ideal as a second shoe to keep in the backpack, to alternate with more structured models based on the climbing style. It requires a trained foot, especially for heavier climbers, but in return offers a unique, fun, and highly technical climbing experience.
