Ski mountaineering is a strange sport. Climbing requires a huge effort, where you sweat and get tired; descending, you experience pure pleasure, but for an infinitesimal time compared to the ascent. It is different from other snow sports. Here you need garments that are breathable and lightweight but also protective and warm. And trust me, it is not at all easy to find a garment perfectly suited to the needs of every ski mountaineer. For this reason, the research and development department of Karpos, driven by both passion and the roots of Karpos as athletes, has decided to focus on this goal, producing — season after season — increasingly technical and high-performing garments but also comfortable and with a distinctive style. The latest piece is the Marmolada Anorak Fleece, designed to be used in combination with the Marmolada Bib. Made from abrasion-resistant fabric with a water-repellent treatment on the outside and a brushed surface on the inside, the Marmolada Anorak Fleece offers both protection from the elements (such as wind and humidity) and excellent thermal insulation, but not only that. In fact, when you push hard uphill, it is important to wick heat and sweat away from your body. And indeed, thanks to the lightweight and stretchy fabric inserts, the garment is highly breathable — and the double zip opening on the chest further enhances ventilation.
