The Makalu Lite by Leki is a telescopic and adjustable trekking pole, perfect for ensuring maximum reliability during your mountain excursions and high-altitude trekking. This model, structured in three sections, features cylindrical tubes without profile made from thermally treated HTS 6.5 aluminum, a material choice that combines extraordinary robustness with excellent stability. An undisputed strength is the ergonomic Aergon Air grip made of dual-density foam, equipped with a special hollow technology that lightens the structure while maintaining ample support surfaces for the hand; additionally, the back of the grip is completely rubberized to ensure maximum control and total grip during downhill sections. To facilitate progression on steep terrain or along slopes, there is a practical single-density foam grip extension that allows for a lower and more comfortable hold without having to change the length of the pole. The tested system with PAS handle is free of integrated gloves but features the Skin Strap 5.0, a lightweight and breathable strap with continuous size adjustment that stabilizes the wrist and optimally distributes pressure. Length adjustment is quick and secure thanks to the Speed Lock Plus system, an external clamp that allows you to change the size in seconds and guarantees exceptional holding power in any weather condition. The pole has segments with diameters of 16, 14, and 12 mm that offer ideal structural rigidity for walking on mountain trails and scenic routes designed for adults. At the bottom, there is the robust short Flex Tip, designed to provide precise use of the pole and excellent grip on almost all types of terrain, complemented by the Trekking 2.0 basket, a compact hiking plate that prevents sinking into soft or muddy surfaces and can be easily replaced by hand as needed.
