MSR Access 2 trekking tent
The MSR Access 2 is a lightweight yet warm tent for backcountry skiers, splitboarders, and snowshoe hikers. It is lighter than a mountaineering tent while providing more warmth than traditional backpacking tents. The tent body features a limited amount of mesh to retain heat during cold nights, while the lightweight and compact design helps save energy during ascents and descents. Inside, the tent offers ample space to take off and put on clothing, and the sturdy structure withstands potential snow loads overnight. Easy to set up, it ensures reliable protection in less extreme conditions.
The tent accommodates two people, with a minimum weight of 1.64 kg and a packed weight of 1.86 kg. Once packed, it measures 46 x 15 cm. The floor dimensions are 213 x 127 cm, with a usable area of 2.69 m² and a maximum internal height of 107 cm. The vestibule offers 1.62 m² of space and a volume of 481 liters, while the total volume of the tent is 1,586 liters. It has two doors, is freestanding, and supported by a single Easton Syclone pole.
The rainfly is made of 20D ripstop nylon with a 1200 mm Xtreme Shield polyurethane and silicone coating, the canopy is made of 20D ripstop nylon with DWR and 10D polyester mesh, while the floor is made of 30D ripstop nylon with a 3000 mm Xtreme Shield polyurethane coating and DWR.
