Osprey Soelden 25 L ski mountaineering backpack
The Osprey Soelden 25 L is a technical ski mountaineering backpack designed for light and fast outings in snowy environments, with quick access to avalanche safety equipment. It features a LightWire frame that ensures comfort during transport, removable components to lighten the load, particularly durable NanoFly straps, and a dedicated compartment for the self-rescue kit. Despite its compact volume, it offers stability, energy efficiency, and high-level performance.
Access to the main compartment is from the back panel, made with materials that prevent the accumulation of snow and ice. Inside, there is a side pocket for small items or a thermos, a zip pocket, and a section for a GPS or radio with attachment points for a microphone. The backpack includes a pocket for goggles or accessories with a soft lining and a front compartment for organizing avalanche safety equipment. It is also equipped with a stowable helmet holder, sled straps, an attachment system for an ice axe with a UHMWPE sleeve, and loops for carrying skis in an A-frame, as well as systems for diagonal ski transport and vertical or horizontal snowboard transport.
The back panel is shaped from thermoformed EVA, with a lightweight and stable design for comfortable transport. The 25 mm hip belt is adjustable, as is the sternum strap, which includes a safety whistle. The structure uses a 2.5 mm LightWire peripheral frame with an HDPE panel, offering mobility and stability while keeping the weight low.
The backpack has a load capacity between 7 and 12 kg and is available in specific sizes for optimal fit. The main and reinforcement fabrics are made from 100% recycled nylon sourced from ocean waste, with a PFAS-free DWR treatment, while the bottom uses 420D NanoTough recycled nylon with a carbonate coating for increased durability. All materials are bluesign approved, ensuring high environmental and social standards.
