Petzl Marteau hammer ice axe
The Marteau by Petzl is a hammer that can be installed on the ice axes Quark, Ergo, and Nomic, used for placing rock anchors.
The company Petzl was founded by two speleologists, Fernand Petzl and Pierre Chevalier. Together, they brought numerous innovations to their discipline and to sport climbing. In 1968, they began producing the first descenders, and in 1975, the Petzl brand officially entered the market. The company, founded in France, has always focused on research, development, and innovation; it was Petzl who invented the GRIGRI in 1991, the first self-braking belay device. In 2014, new branches were opened in Spain and Germany.
