Petzl Rad Line is a very light hyperstatic lanyard designed to be used by skiers for all emergencies and rope maneuvers.
It has been studied in detail to facilitate its use: rough sock to increase grip, improve control of the descent in abseils and facilitate the braking action in the event of a crash.
In fact, in the event of a fall in a crevasse, abseiling with a double rope or tying a rope, you can use Rad Line. This is why it is always advisable to have it inside the backpack together with all the safety equipment: it is light (it weighs only 22 g per meter) and it is also highly compressible.
