SCARPA Alien 1.0 ski mountaineering boots

SCARPA Alien 1.0 is a ski mountaineering boot designed primarily for competitions. It is excellent for both vertical ski mountaineering races (super fast races with short distances) and long distance (races of longer duration with medium to long distances to cover).

Made mostly from carbon fibers, Alien 1.0 is extremely lightweight and very durable. These carbon fibers are combined with a resin that serves to protect them and increase the boot's strength.

The shell and cuff are made from Grilamid Carbon LFT. This is a polyamide to which long carbon fibers have been added, increasing its elasticity as well as its resistance to impacts and abrasions.

Like all race boots, Alien 1.0 also features an integrated gaiter, constructed with nylon and spandex fibers. There is also a thin layer of PU at the bottom that enhances foot protection and thermal insulation in the most sensitive areas. The upper part has an elastic band to ensure a perfect fit without excessive compression.

Additionally, at the center of the boot, corresponding to the instep, there is a Velcro strap with a slider that helps the skier to insert their foot into the liner inside the shell and also facilitates the insertion and removal of the liner within the shell.

The closure system is via BOA, which consists of a dial that adjusts the tension as it is turned. Each click corresponds to 1 mm.

The lacing system is quite unique and has been designed specifically to meet the needs of athletes: speed and lightness of the system. This is called the Speed Lock System Lite and consists of the A-Light Lever made of lightweight and durable alloy, a Dyneema cord, two loops, and two metal hooks.

Thanks to this fairly articulated system, with a single movement you can release or lock the cuff from the shell.
