SCARPA Origin VS is a climbing shoe designed for those looking for their first comfortable pair of shoes for bouldering.
It is in fact the bouldering version of the famous Origin beginner's shoe, with the addition of a thin rubber cover on the upper part of the toe area to facilitate hooking.
The upper is made of soft, two-layer microfibre and the closure is a single Velcro strap with a gusset for easy donning.
The midsole, on the other hand, is 1.4 mm thick and covers 3/4 of the length of the foot so as to help spread the force throughout the foot. As for tensioning, however, the innovative PAF system is a heel construction method that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the achilles tendon.
