SCARPA Vapor S climbing shoes are the latest innovation released as part of the now super well-known Vapor line from SCARPA.
In this line, you will find the stiffer version with lace closure, a version with a half sole and softer than the previous one with velcro, and now you will also find an even softer version with a truly innovative lacing system. But let's go step by step and study this footwear more in-depth.
Suitable for both the crag and the gym, this shoe is perfect for those looking for something intermediate, not too aggressive that won't hurt the foot too much. The position of the big toe inside is indeed only slightly arched to ensure excellent precision.
As for the internal construction, you will find a tensioning system that, thanks to the Bi-Tension System, starts from the toe and reaches the arch of the foot, providing stability and the right power.
The sole and midsole package, on the other hand, consists of a midsole that covers the entire length to provide support and precision and a Vibram XS Grip2 compound, which is softer than the Vibram XS Edge. This is why it is an extremely versatile shoe: a full sole but with a softer compound to combine all the advantages of both factors.
The upper, on the other hand, is a perfect combination that unites pieces of microfiber without creating annoying overlaps. At the instep, you will find a gusset that facilitates putting on the shoe.
The Nano Strap System lacing system, on the other hand, is particularly innovative as it allows for perfect adjustment of the internal volumes according to three closure modes: Slipper mode, the most relaxed; Fast mode for greater adherence on the instep; and Strong mode for maximum closure at the ankle.
