A mountaineer for climbing bets is written by Italo Zandonella Callegher and is the story of Piero Ghiglione, a well-known mountaineer remembered as the "vagabond of the mountains" and for one of the most dramatic episodes in the history of mountaineering. A tragedy reconstructed in every detail, which saw the companions of Ghiglione involved in 1954 during an expedition to Mount Apis, in Western Nepal. The mountaineer saw them all die.
