Versante Sud Mountain Safety is a manual that delves into the concept of safety in the mountains. The concept of safety applied to an environment, such as that of the mountains and walls of every size, which is naturally complex and by its nature absolutely never free from significant objective dangers, may sound like a paradox.
This manual, in fact, is not a "recipe book for safe mountains"! We have tried to describe techniques and materials, their use and application in the environment. The novice, but also those who already know and use the concepts illustrated here, can draw useful insights and advice to better tackle mountaineering and climbing.
A substantial first part of the manual details all the hardware that is normally used in all vertical disciplines, from crash pads to the most sophisticated materials for big wall and high altitude. The maneuvers and knots, in addition to being photographed in detail in the pages of the book, can be viewed in downloadable videos with QR codes to provide intuitive and complementary support to their illustration.
